2009 Patrick M. D'Aliso "Most Improved Wrestler" ~ Awarded by Section 9 at the Section 9 Finals: Luke Amrhein

(Excerpt from Times Herald Record – 2/15/09) Amrhein D'Aliso award winner

Valley Central junior 152-pounder Luke Amrhein was named the Pat D'Aliso Award winner before the finals Saturday.
The honor is given to Section 9's most improved wrestler.
Amrhein wrestled in one of the most exciting finals of the night.
It appeared Amrhein had the wind knocked out of him when Pine Bush senior Louis Berger elevated him and put him to the mat late in the first period. Amrhein rebounded, cradling Berger for three back points and led 3-2 after the second period. Down 5-3 in the final seconds, Amrhein (38-11) escaped and was still fighting to the end.
